GPA GMIT scholarship application process now open

Applications are now being accepted from Gaelic Players Association (GPA) members for scholarship opportunities at Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT).  Players are urged to apply early ahead of the July 6th deadline.

There are four taught MSc Scholarships available as part of the arrangement between GMIT and the GPA.  The programmes in which they are available has been expanded for the coming academic year to include:

Applications are also being accepted for MSc in Applied Sport and Exercise Nutrition : MSc in Applied Sport and Exercise Nutrition | GMIT) and  MSc in Strength and Conditioning : MSc in Strength and Conditioning | GMIT) as had previously been the case.

There is also an opportunity available to apply for research masters which are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Speaking about these opportunities GPA Head of Finance and Operations Ciarán Barr said; “I would like to thank the team at GMIT for their ongoing support for inter-county players.  This has developed into a very beneficial partnership for our members and that’s down to the collaborative and constructive approach taken by all involved which is evidenced by the new programmes added this year.”

Dr Lisa Ryan, Head of Dept of Sport, Exercise and Nutrition at GMIT said; “The collaboration between the GPA and GMIT has been very successful to date and we are delighted to be able to continue to offer these scholarships and also to include our new and exciting MSc programmes.”
