The GPA opens applications for the Legacy Leadership Programme

The Gaelic Players Association is delighted to announce that the application process is now open for the Legacy Leadership Programme.  This bespoke leadership programme has been developed by experts in education, sport and business.

Over the past decade, the GPA Leadership Programme—originally inspired by the legacy of Jim Madden, a quiet leader who made a lasting impact in his Tipperary community and beyond—has grown into a nationally recognised initiative that blends ambition, humility, purpose and impact.

The newly evolved GPA Legacy Leadership Programme for 2025 proudly builds on this remarkable foundation, offering elite Gaelic athletes a unique space to develop as leaders not just for performance, but for purpose.

The 2025 Legacy Programme retains all the proven elements that have made it such a success: immersive leadership workshops, in-depth development centres, one-to-one coaching, and the powerful peer learning that happens when driven, like-minded athletes challenge and support each other. It is elite-athlete friendly, real-world relevant, and intentionally reflective.

With the continued support of the GPA, and our wider network of collaborators and coaches, this next chapter aims to deepen the impact—equipping participants not only to lead in games, but in boardrooms, classrooms, town halls, and wherever they choose to serve.

You can find out all about the programme and find the application forms HERE.

The closing date for applications is Wednesday, July 9th at 5pm.
