Education and Training Support

Please see below the GPA funding options and support available to all current and former playing members.

The GPA also has a network of education advisors available to all members who may need more information on course selection, course requirements and any additional funding available to them from alternative parties. If you feel an education advisor would be of benefit to you then please feel free to contact niall@gaelicplayers.com.

Depending on your GPA membership (current / past) and your course type (full time / part time) then the application process may vary.

Full Time Third Level Scholarships


 

What courses are recognised?

Undergraduate and Postgraduate FULL time courses. All courses must be recognised by;

1.       The Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI).

What are the typical Awards?

The value of the scholarship may vary due to the level of funding available and the number of applicants. The 2014 scholarship payments ranged from €600 - €1000.

Who is entitled to apply for Education and Training Funding?

1.       All current playing members who are completing a part time course.

2.       Former playing members who are completing a part time, full time or an up-skilling course.

What are the application opening and closing dates?

The application process is open 12 months of the year.

How to apply?

You can access the Education and Training application form by logging into your GPA account.

What courses are recognised?

All course that are nationally recognised and accredited.  

What are the typical Awards?

This will depend on funds available and the number of applicants.

What are the requirements?

In order for a player to apply for this funding he needs to be enrolled / committed to the course. When completing the application, the player is required to upload a document which states that the player is enrolled in the course. This document can be proof of payment of the course or the course deposit.
