GAELIC PLAYERS ASSOCIATION GROUP LICENSING ASSIGNMENT

I, a member of the Gaelic Players Association ("GPA"), hereby assign to the GPA and the GPA Management Company Ltd ("GPA MC Ltd) , the exclusive right to use and to grant to persons, firms or companies (collectively "licensees") the right to use my name, nickname, signature, voice, picture, photograph, likeness, personal sports performance data and statistics, and/or biographical information (collectively "image") in GPA and GPA MC Ltd group licensing programmes in relation to products, services, sponsorships, endorsements and/or promotions. Group licensing programmes are defined as those GPA and GPA MC Ltd licensing programmes in which a licensee utilises a total of 3 or more GPA player images in conjunction with or on products or services that are sold at retail or used as promotional or premium items or in advertising in any media. A non exhaustive list of potential group licensing product/service categories includes:

  • Fantasy GAA
  • Toys and games.
  • Video/PC/handheld games (action/management)
  • Online & Digital Broadcast Providers
  • Publishing
  • Trading/Collectors cards and stickers
  • Posters, Calendars, Photos
  • Apparel
  • Collectibles
  • Affinity credit cards
  • Isotonic/sports drinks
  • Water
  • Mobile technologies

I agree to support and not to undertake commercial activities in conflict with group licensing programmes entered into by the GPA and GPA MC Ltd, including the Energise (isotonic, sports drink and water category) agreement, and any others of which I may be notified. If my inclusion in a particular GPA and/or GPA MC Ltd programme is precluded by a pre-existing individual exclusive endorsement agreement, and I provide the GPA with advance written notice of that preclusion, the GPA and the GPA MC Ltd agrees to exclude me from that particular programme.

I hereby authorise the GPA and the GPA MC Ltd to take such action on my behalf as the GPA and the GPA MC Ltd considers reasonably necessary to enforce rights in my image where my image (or any part thereof) is being used by third parties without my own or the GPA's or the GPA MC Ltd's consent.

In consideration for this assignment of rights, the GPA and the GPA MC Ltd agrees to use the revenues it receives from group licensing programmes to support the objectives as set forth in the Constitution of the GPA, which benefit me as a member. The GPA and the GPA MC Ltd further agree to use all reasonable efforts to promote the use of GPA player images in group licensing programmes, and to endeavour to ensure that no entity engages in a group licensing programme using GPA member images without first obtaining a license from the GPA and/or GPA MC Ltd. The GPA and GPA MC Ltd makes no representations regarding group licensing other than those expressed therein. This agreement shall be construed under the laws of the Republic of Ireland.

This assignment shall expire on proper cancellation of my membership of the GPA and may not be revoked or terminated by me until such date. This assignment shall automatically renew upon renewal of my membership of the GPA.

This GPA Group Licensing Assignment applies to all members who sign the membership form opposite. Please keep this document as a reference.
